Propeller Model

At Propeller Academy, we are committed to a process of learning, growth and life-change. We believe that when we combine our faith in God with an awareness of what we think, do and imagine, people will increase in character, resiliency, and other human intelligences essential for living. These elements equip us to meet the demands of life’s challenges. Our propeller model has one hub and three blades.

The HUB

A BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW

Who does God say He is?

What does God say He will do?

What does the Bible say about who I am?

What is the purpose God designed me for?

Perceptions are what you “think” about

PERCEPTIONS OF CAPABILITIES

God made me capable of facing problems and challenges.

He will give me strength and wisdom through experience.

PERCEPTIONS OF IDENTITY

Because of my relationship with Christ, my life has significance, meaning and purpose.

“Who” I am directly relates to “whom” I belong.

What I have to offer others is of great value in the plans that God has for us.

PERCEPTIONS OF INFLUENCE

God’s Word asks me to be an example to the world.

Therefore my choices influence what happens to me and others.

Skills are what you “do”

INTERNAL MANAGEMENT SKILLS

I can develop the tools I need to respond to my intrapersonal emotions effectively—self-assessment, self-control and self-discipline.

Often what I think about in combination to what I do, will create the right feelings.

RELATIONAL SKILLS

I can learn and utilize the interpersonal communication tools to effectively cooperate, negotiate, share, empathize, resolve conflicts,
and listen effectively when dealing with people.

COMMUNITY SKILLS

I can gain the required knowledge and tools of responsibility, adaptability, and flexibility necessary
to deal with the various groups and community systems which I live in.

CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS

I can cultivate the tools to set goals and/or make decisions, judgments, and choices based on Biblical principles, wisdom, dependable information and experience.

IMAGINATION fuels learning, dreams and INNOVATION

IMAGINATION

What fascinates me? What am I curious about?

INQUIRY

What questions do I have?

INITIATIVE

How can I learn more? What does this mean? How does this impact the bigger picture?

INVENTION

How could it be improved? Is there another way to look at this (perception)? Do I have the resources to create something new (skills)?

IMPLEMENTATION

Let’s try it! Courage. Persistence. Resiliency.

INNOVATION – is creativity applied.
